This was our best Christmas yet because we were able to share it with Emma. Even though she doesn't know what all the fuss is about yet, there was a new excitement to the day. Emma woke up around 9am and we opened presents at home. Then we went to Grandma and Grandpa Ristau's for breakfast and lunch and to open gifts. Then it was off to Grandma and Grandpa Lieberg's house where we opened even more gifts with them and Great Gram and Great Pawp and had some yummy dessert. By about 10pm Emma nodded off at her Grandparents' house. It was a fantastic day with our family. We felt very blessed to be able to spend the time together. We want to thank all of our friends and family who have made this holiday season so memorable, and we wish everyone a Happy New Year!

Emma with Mommy and Daddy
We've taken this picture each Christmas for the past eight years now, only this year we went from a couple to a family of three.
Emma's New Toy
This is one of Emma's favorite new toys. It is a sing-along stage with a mirror and a microphone. Emma hits buttons that play songs and different instrument solos.
Thanks, Grandma and Grandpa Lieberg!!!
Emma's Daddy got this "third eye" head light which he thought would be funny to shine in Mommy's face! It did come in handy this week though when Daddy was installing a new kitchen sink!
Sleep in Heavenly Peace
This is Emma at the end of the day on her very first Christmas. Her shirt says it best- "Mom and Dad's best present ever!"
Emma and Ornament
Grandpa Lieberg took this picture of Emma with a Christmas ornament from our tree. We had to buy the plastic ones a few years ago since our cats used to climb up into our artificial tree.

We bought Emma this bathing suit which she will be able to wear to her "Shrimp" swimming lessons at the YMCA next month...or to Hawaii should we win the lottery sometime soon!

Happy Half Birthday, Emma!
We can't believe Emma is six months old already. The time has flown by. We celebrated this evening with both sets of grandparents and Auntie Mal and of course, half a cake!

new dress
Emma wore this dress from Mrs. Langer to church today. It brings out the blue in her eyes. Thanks Mrs. Langer!

new hat
Today was Emma's mommy's last day of school for a few weeks, and Emma received some really cute gifts, too, like this adorable hat from Taylor (a former student of mommy's) and Kathy. Emma's mommy is thankful for such generous and kind parents and students and she hopes that they all have a safe and fun winter break!
snow suit
Emma wore her snow suit for the first time tonight. We couldn't help but be reminded of Ralphie in "A Christmas Story" ("I can't put my arms down!")
Graduation Day
Emma's Auntie Mal graduated from Ashland University last weekend. Emma was such a good girl during the ceremony! Here she is with Grandma Ristau.

Emma and Santa
Here is a photo of Emma's first time meeting Santa. She did not cry, but she did not smile either! Santa told her he's been watching her, and that he knows she's been a very good girl.

Santa Baby
Emma wore this outfit today for her 6 month/ Christmas picture at JCPenney's. Unfortunately the pictures in this outfit did not make the cut. We like this one at home in her chair though!
Emma eating squash
So far, Emma has tried sweet potatoes, carrots, and squash. She seems to find all three very tasty.

We think Emma looks very festive in her red jumper and shiny new shoes. She wore this to church this morning.
first taste of sweet potatoes
Grandpa Lieberg snapped the next few pictures from Thanksgiving. He captured Emma's first taste of sweet potatoes.

First Sweet Potatoes
First Sweet Potatoes, originally uploaded by bosox026.
Emma celebrated her very first Thanksgiving yesterday at Grandma and Grandpa Lieberg's house, along with Grandma and Grandpa Ristau, Great Gram and Pawp, Great Aunt Sharon and Great Uncle Eric, and Auntie Mal. She ate her first baby food other than cereal- sweet potatoes. She made a funny face at first, but then she really seemed to like the taste of them. Emma has a lot to be thankful for, and her parents are so thankful to have such a sweet, happy baby!
